Safe Horizon's Project Safe provides lock replacement services to crime victims in all five New York City boroughs.

Project Safe will change, replace or install top locks free of charge within 24-48 hours. The 'bottom' lock is the property and responsibility of the landlord and will not be serviced by Project Safe's locksmiths. Damaged doors and doorframes must be repaired before scheduling an appointment for locksmith services.

The Elderly Crime Victims Resource Center helps older adults aged 60 and older, who have become victims of crimes that include:

The Department for the Aging (NYC Aging) can assist victimized older adults with making police complaints or contacting the District Attorney's Office for an investigation.

The Victim Information Notification Everyday Hotline (VINE) is an automated system that allows crime victims to register to receive updates on the status of an incarcerated person, including scheduled release date and transfer information. Assistance is available in English and Spanish.
