Department of Parks and Recreation Pools

  • Indoor pools will remain closed to the general public until further notice.
     
  • On June 26, NYC Parks plans to open outdoor pools in all five boroughs. All standard pool protocols will apply, and open swim hours will remain the same: 11 AM to 3 PM, and 4 PM to 7 PM. Five of the City’s 53 outdoor pools will be closed due to active reconstruction projects.

You can get information about free fitness and low-cost fitness classes and programs.

Through Shape Up NYC, the Department of Parks and Recreation offers free fitness classes every week at recreation centers and other locations across the five boroughs.

Expert fitness instructors teach a variety of classes including:

  • Aerobics
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Zumba

No preregistration is required and walk-ins are welcome.
