Coronavirus (COVID-19) Antibody Testing

Antibody tests, also called serology tests, check your blood to determine if you've had COVID-19 in the past. The test is taken through a finger prick or blood draw.

A positive test for antibodies doesn't necessarily mean you're immune to COVID-19.

You should get an antibody test if you:

  • Don't have COVID-19 symptoms
  • Haven't been sick in the last two weeks
  • Haven't tested positive for COVID-19 in the last two weeks

These tests can't be used to determine whether you are currently infected with COVID-19. If you are currently sick, you should get a diagnostic test instead.
