Cooling Outreach On-Location (COOL) vans provide mobile resources specifically for the most vulnerable New Yorkers.
COOL vans do not have fixed locations. You also can't request a visit from a COOL van directly.
Operated by NYC Health + Hospitals, these vans focus on helping older adults and people experiencing homelessness.
Services and resources include:
- Wellness checks, including in-home visits for older adults
- Medical care
- Essential supplies like water, electrolytes, and sunscreen
- Transportation to cooling centers or health care facilities
If you need relief from the heat, please visit a cooling center. If you see someone living on the street who needs help, request homeless outreach assistance.
